For the last one week we have been in the ICU waiting room in New Jersey dealing with Vic's father's heart condition. Simone has also been waiting there every day with us and she has been such a trooper. No temper tantrums, no crying, nothing really - I am so proud of her. When she is tired, she goes to sleep on one of the couches in the waiting area. She plays with her three toys that we brought from LA all the time. She smiles and says hello, and bye to all the people in the waiting room and in the hospital when she walks by. Occasionally she will stop and say, "it's okay". I see all these people smile when they see her, one person even got her a big tigger balloon the other day. I am glad that in her own little way she is spreading some joy to the folks in the hospital.
Simone's grandfather is on the ventilator at the moment and we are hoping that he will come out of it. But two days ago, he was doing great in the hospital and Simone and he were hanging out. He was saying 1.. and she was responding 2. He would ask her to dance and she would shake her booty as always. She would say ' hi dada! its okay','dada I love you'. She was making him smile and laugh and he would recite nursery rhymes back to her. This was probably the best day he has had in a while. Tuesday was his happiest day. Thank you Simone for bringing him such joy.
