Simone's 3rd bday party in Los Angeles

My darling darling Simone. You are now 3 years old! I love you so much because you are the one that made me a mama….you have taught me how to be patient, more giving, and generally stop to smell the roses. As fun as your life is right now, we wanted your birthday to be a reflection and a celebration of your life. You have grown up so fast in the last 6 months that daddy and I are always amazed when we look at pictures of how little you were when baby brother was born. We had 2 birthday parties for you this year also. The first was in Los Angeles with your friends and the second one was with nana in Hyderabad.

For the one in Los Angeles, we planned and planned for months leading up to it. Every time I asked you what theme you wanted – you said butterfly. So butterfly it was. We had a few butterflies on the food table and you wore your beautiful butterfly wings. Your friends from your playgroup, preschool, and other family friends came out to celebrate on a hot sunny Los Angeles day. We had almost 100 people at your birthday party! As usual mummy wanted to prep food for the party but this time we had the help of your talented and extremely capable myme for the dishes. We served mint cucumber cream cheese sandwiches, rice, raita, mac n cheese mini, chicken empanadas, fruit kebabs, fruit platter and veggie platter. In addition we had a make your own trail mix station. The party was a blast; everyone had something to do since it was at your pre-school. There was a mini playground that kept the kids swinging, sand in the playground that the kids loved playing with, and a bouncy house to burn off the excess energy.

Lots of children were playing indoors with the puzzles and the dinosaurs as it as hot outside. We picked out personalized party favors for all the children. Did you know that we had almost 38 party favor bags? The weekend before mummy and myme packed the favor bags and myme created a personal name tag for your friends.

Kaka came out to celebrate your bday with you. On the day of your birthday, it was mayhem as usual, everyone was running around trying to get the last minute things. Your cake came from Porto’s Bakery. It was Cuban Chocolate Cake with the red velvet decoration with real rose petals. The cake was delicious and everyone admired how beautiful it was. You had a lot of fun and we all had so much fun watching you have fun.

Memories are so precious. All your birthday parties have been amazing.. they only get better and better. I love watching you enjoy your birthday parties. I love watching your friends come to celebrate your life with you.
