Today on our way to the park in the evening we got everything together - baby, balls, jacket etc.. and started to leave when Simone calls out for her shoes - saying ---- "ch......oooooo...sss". That's when we realized she was letting us know that we forgot to put her shoes on. We gave her two options - pink shoes and blue shoes and she pointed to the pink shoes which we put on and went to the park.
Its amazing how quickly they start to learn new vocabulary once the light goes on in their heads. Her vocabulary now includes shoes, balloon, bubbles, monkey, nana, eye, nose in addition to everything else she already knows. She seems to pick up a word or two daily. The best word she now understands is "finished" which is very helpful as we now know when she is done feeding herself so we can get her from her high chair. This also minimizes food droppings on the floor which is now restricted to only one or two morsels per meal.
