The day after Xmas was one of the most momentous occasions in my life. My son, Simone's brother, Neel Vir Parekh, was born. But this is Simone's blog, I will focus on how Simone reacted to baby brother. For weeks, we had been working with her, asking her how she would react to baby brother. The responses she gave ranged from 'I will push him' to 'I will love him'. She agreed to share some of her books, in exchange for baby brother sharing some of his socks. We read a book "Ellie's a big sister" to her over and over again. And to top it off, for Xmas, baby brother gave her a kitchen set that she really liked (and that took over 5 hours to assemble).
On the fateful day, we brought Simone to the hospital. She saw him literally an hour after he was born. We were unprepared for Simone's reaction. She was totally and utterly in love with him. She insisted on holding him, she kissed him, and she wanted to play with him. We had to work to keep her from hurting little Neel. We are so happy with little Simone, with how much she was in love with him. It just shows us how much of a loving nature she has.
Now, let's see how long the love lasts!
